Reflecting on 2024
The power of in-person retreats to transform your life.
As the year came to a close, I feel more than ever very fortunate. I love my life and had wonderful experiences and moments over the past 12 months. On top of the list were the in-person events: from the three-day Breathwork Foundation Course with Dr Ela Manga to our Yoga Holiday in France and Yoga & Breathwork retreats at home in Portugal. Although I love teaching on zoom, I have to admit that spending several days in person really create lasting memories.
The Power of In-Person Events
There’s something truly special about gathering in person for yoga and breathwork. These practices go beyond the physical benefits — they foster connection, presence, and a sense of shared energy that seems amplified when practised in person. The first memories that come to mind are the gentle sound of synchronised bumble bee breathing, the magic of chanting OM in a group or the incredible power of Conscious Connected Breath in a circle. Everyone seems uplifted by the collective energy when moving and breathing together. This is why I love hosting retreats.
A Precious Time to Reconnect and Recharge
Our retreats come in all shapes and sizes, but they all share one thing in common: they are opportunities to step away from busy daily life.
In some cases, retreats are more like a holiday — a time to relax, have fun, and let go of work and worries. Our Yoga Holiday in La Perdrix in France for instance is filled with laughter, connection, and enjoying time off in a fun, supportive environment. It’s so nice to see the same persons coming back year after year, saying this is the highlight of their year! Last year, three mothers brought their adult child… Our first Advanced Yoga retreat in Portugal was also one of these. If I were to sum it up, I would say it was work hard and laugh even harder!
In other cases, participants are come on a retreat on a quest or a journey. One of the key questions that often come up is ‘How can I change my practice or my routine to improve my physical and mental health?’ My intention is thus to give these people the option to go beyond relaxation and fun and delve into the work of self-discovery and transformation.
But although most people know what to do to improve their health (ie practice yoga, breathwork, meditate, exercise, let go…), it is easier said than done. For some reasons, we get stuck when trying to implement these changes.
Supporting Transformation
For me, retreats are more than just doing yoga and breathwork together; it’s about creating experiences that truly make a difference. I want everyone who joins a retreat to leave with more than just memories. It might be insights, tools, and a sense of purpose that they can carry into their everyday lives. And I would like everyone who feels the need to change their life to feel empowered to do so. This work is deeply important to me, and I’m committed to helping you get the most out of every retreat experience.
I believe that true transformation comes from addressing the deeper layers of our being—not just through physical movement or relaxation but by creating space to explore our inner world, release old patterns, and reconnect with our purpose. This is why I’ve integrated Conscious Connected Breath sessions and techniques from my training as a Transformation Life Coach into the retreat experience. These tools are powerful catalysts for deep inner work, helping to unlock clarity, resilience, and the courage to embrace meaningful change.
Ultimately, my goal is to guide you toward a life where you feel empowered to embody the changes you seek. Whether it’s building stronger connections, befriending your body or stepping boldly into a new chapter, the retreats can be the first step on your journey.
Looking Ahead
As we step into a brand new year, I’m excited to continue this journey with all of you. Whether it’s through yoga & breathwork classes, workshops or retreats, my goal remains the same: to create spaces where you can relax, connect, and uncover the best version of yourself, which in turn also helps me uncover the best version of myself. So thank you!
